Comments from Ar. Dexter Koh

  • The perspective doesn’t translate the concept of fun from the theoretical schematic sketch.

  • Could have shown more programs on the perspective to show the fun.

  • The idea of connecting the school through the existing green belt is good, however, it would be better to indicate the overall green belt distance, and propose some program like cycling to the public due to the long distance.

Comments from Mr Gary

  • The issue is relevant to the current society now.

  • Is there any reason to locate Restaurant on the first floor instead of the ground floor? Because normally the ground floor is an expensive and happening area.

  • How is this building going to evolve according to time to cater to the current user whom they will get older one day as well? Any specific programs.

  • Same thought with Ar. Dexter, the kind of fun atmosphere doesn’t translate from the schematic sketch.

  • How is youth defined the mean of playfulness and fun? Through colours, building shape or social behaviour?

Comments from Ar.Aznida

  • Suggest to input demographic data of site to enhance the feasibility of the project

  • Current theme parks are no longer happening as back then, so how am I viewing my project in term of the difference between my project and existing theme park.

Point of View

Firstly, I agreed with most of the comments that I had received from the beloved panellists.

However, there are some I could not agree with. For example, the comment made by Mr Gary about the location of the restaurant. Yes, I truly agree with his idea about the ground floor is a valuable area. But, for my case, I located F&B on the first level is because to connect the existing commercial activities on the same level due to the proposed site has a different level of contour. Therefore, the restaurant/commercial activities continue from the existing to the proposed building to activate commercial life.

Besides, speaking to the question from Ar Aznida about my perception of my project compare to the current theme park, I would say that the biggest difference is the approach in term of technology. The theme parks have lost the public interest because the users back then are not physically active as before, the current generation is technology generation. Therefore, the project is merging VR with physical, to activate the public interest. To avoid the problem like the current theme park, the purpose of the building would evolve according to trend and generation to keep the interest from the public.
